วิสต้าจะมีฟีเจอร์ "Previous Versions"
ในวินโดวส์ XP ที่ฟีเจอร์ที่ไม่ค่อยมีใครรู้คือการทำ Volume Shadow ไว้ที่ไดรฟ์อื่นๆ เพื่อให้ไฟล์ของเราได้ไม่เสียหายจากการทำงานผิดพลาด ข้อเสียของระบบนี้คือเซ็ตอัพค่อนข้างยากและวุ่นวาย แต่ไมโครซอฟท์ระบุว่าจะไม่เป็นเช่นนั้นอีกต่อไปเมื่อวิสต้าจะมีการรวมเอาการเก็บเวอร์ชั่นของไฟล์เข้าไว้ในตัว ให้ผู้ใช้สามารถเรียกเอาเวอร์ชั่นของไฟล์เก่าๆ ที่ได้แก้ไขไว้ก่อนหน้ากลับมาได้เรื่อยๆ ระบบที่ว่านี้ไม่ได้เข้ามาแทนที่ระบบอย่างพวก Version Control แต่อย่างใด แต่การใช้งานที่ง่าย อาจจะทำให้เหล่าโปรแกรมเมอร์ขี้เกียจใช้ Version Control กันเพิ่มขึ้น ที่แน่ๆ คือระบบนี้มันกินฮาร์ดดิสก์ตามรุ่นพี่ของมันคือ Recycle Bin มีไว้ก็ดี แต่อย่าทำให้เครื่องช้าลงก็แล้วกัน... ข่าวจาก www.blognone.com |

งานสาธิตระบบ "Voice Recognition" ในวิสต้าล่มไม่เป็นท่า
เมื่ออาทิตย์ที่ผ่านมา ไมโครซอฟท์ได้จัดงานสาธิตระบบจดจำเสียง (Voice Recognition) ของวินโดวส์ วิสต้า แต่แล้วงานก็ล่มไม่เป็นท่า เพราะโปรแกรมเจ้ากรรม ได้ทำงานผิดพลาดอย่างไม่น่าให้อภัย อย่างเช่น คำว่า "Dear Mom (comma)" โปรแกรมได้แปลเป็น "Dear Aunt," ทางไมโครซอฟท์ได้ออกมาอ้างว่าสาเหตุที่ระบบมันไม่ทำงานนั้น ก็เพราะเสียงรบกวนในห้อง แต่ก็อย่างที่เห็น เมื่อผู้สาธิตพูดว่า "Select All" โปรแกรมก็ได้ยินถูกต้อง "Select All" แต่แทนที่จะเป็นการเลือกตัวอักษรทั้งหมด ตัวโปรแกรมก็เขียนคำว่า "Select All" ลงไป น่าจะเป็นหนึ่งในสาเหตที่วิสต้าโดนเลื่อนออกไปเรื่อยๆ (เหมือนตอนที่โชว์ วินโดวส์ 98 แล้วมันขึ้นจอฟ้ายังไงยังงั้น) |

IE7 เปลี่ยนชื่อใหม่นิดหน่อย
หลังจากไมโครซอฟท์ได้ทำการประกาศชื่อของ IE ในวินโดวส์วิสต้าว่า "Internet Explorer 7+" เพื่อที่จะให้แตกต่างจาก "Internet Explorer 7" บนวินโดวส์เอ็กซ์พีมาได้พักนึงแล้ว แต่เนื่องจากว่าคงจะแยกแยะได้ไม่ชัดเจนพอไมโครซอฟท์จึงได้ตัดสินใจเปลี่ยนชื่อของ Internet Explorer 7 ทั้งสองเวอร์ชันบนวินโดวส์วิสต้าและวินโดวส์เอ็กซ์พีให้เป็น Windows Internet Explorer 7 for Windows XP สำหรับวินโดวส์เอ็กซ์พี Windows Internet Explorer 7 in Windows Vista สำหรับวินโดวส์วิสต้า วัตถุประสงค์ของการเปลี่ยนชื่อครั้งนี้ก็เพื่อที่จะทำให้ระบุแพลตฟอร์มได้ง่ายยิ่งขึ้นในกรณีเรียกชื่อเต็ม (ชัดเจนกว่า 7 กับ 7+) |

| Domain names are hostnames that provide more easily memorable names to stand in for numeric IP addresses. They allow for any service to move to a different location in the topology of the Internet (or another internet), which would then have a different IP address. |
| Each string of letters, digits and hyphens between the dots is called a label in the parlance of the domain name system (DNS). Valid labels are subject to certain rules, which have relaxed over the course of time. Originally labels must start with a letter, and end with a letter or digit; any intervening characters may be letters, digits, or hyphens. Labels must be between 1 and 63 characters long (inclusive). Letters are ASCII A–Z and a–z; domain names are compared case-insensitively. Later it became permissible for labels to commence with a digit (but not for domain names to be entirely numeric), and for labels to contain internal underscores, but support for such domain names is uneven.
